2 People Pulled from Icy Pond in Central Park

Two people were pulled from a pond in Central Park Tuesday after falling  in.

According to authorities, the pair fell through the icy pond near the corner  of 59th Street and Fifth Ave. at about 2 p.m.

Responding firefighters managed to rescue the two, later transporting them to  New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Their injuries weren’t  immediately known.

Passersby who tweeted about the incident, described one of the victims as a  child.
