2 Injured After Car Slams Into House On Staten Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – A car crashed into a home on Staten Island, injuring a woman and her 5-year-old daughter who were sleeping inside the house, authorities said Friday.

It happened at 4:10 a.m. at a house on Arthur Kill Road in Tottenville.

The 40-year-old woman and her daughter were taken Staten Island North University Hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

The 22-year-old driver who lost control of the car is suspected of DWI, police said. No charges have been filed, but sources told CBS 2 that the driver is in custody.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
