ilfhaThe Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, of which the National Council of Young Israel is a member, helped organize an important solidarity mission to Israel in light of the current events in the Jewish State. Several dozen individuals traveled to Israel this week as part of the mission in order to show support for the Israeli government, the Israel Defense Forces, and the Israeli people, as Operation Protective Edge proceeds amidst a constant barrage of rockets fired by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

Among the participants on the solidarity mission was Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld, the spiritual leader of the Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, NY, who was representing the National Council of Young Israel. We invite you to watch the following video, which is a news segment from Arutz Sheva, in which Rabbi Schonfeld was interviewed, along with Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, about the importance of this very special mission.

Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld’s remarks:

Our thoughts continue to be with the people of Israel as we pray for the safety and well-being of the State of Israel, the brave men and women of the Israel Defense Forces, and our Israeli brethren throughout the Jewish State.
