Rebetzin Ruchama Shain, author of the world-famous book, “All For The Boss,” passed away during the Sabbath at the age of 98, according to a great-grandchild quoted by The Lakewood Scoop.
Shain wrote about her life as the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Herman, one of the first Torah-observant Jews to publicly maintain strict adherence to Jewish law in the United States in the early part of the 20th century.
Raised in an “open home” that welcomed all Jews, the rebetzin, like her father, became a strong beacon of Torah light for others to follow, writing books about Torah observance and Jewish life.
Until 12 years ago, Shain had lived in the same Jerusalem apartment complex as her famous brother-in-law, the renowned Rabbi Chaim Pinchos Scheinberg, of blessed memory, who was married to the rebetzin’s sister, Basha (Bessie), also of blessed memory.
She then moved to New Jersey to live with her son, who heads the Adelphi Yeshiva. During the last year she resided at the Leisure Chateau assisted living center in Lakewood.
The funeral for Rebetzin Ruchama Shain is scheduled to be held Sunday in Lakewood at Tiferes Bais Yaakov at 11:00 a.m. local time, at 613 Oak Street. Her body will be laid to rest in the Holy Land.
