Become A ‘6 Percenter’ At Fairway

Sixty may be the new fifty, but when it comes to savings at Fairway Market, sixty is actually the new thrifty. That is because by joining Fairway Market’s “6% For Sixty” program, which debuts in its Plainview, Westbury, and Lake Grove stores on Tuesday, August 26, customers 60 years and over will save 6% off their bill at the register every Tuesday and Wednesday. Members also receive 10% off catering orders every day of the week.

“With our 6% for Sixty program, being 60 and over pays dividends,” said Bill Sanford, interim chief executive officer of Fairway Market. “We’re very excited to introduce this program in our Long Island stores and show our appreciation to Fairway Market’s loyal shoppers. This is on top of the terrific savings we offer every day as well as our weekly featured specials. So, with our unprecedented selection of the freshest and finest foods and groceries, getting older never ‘tasted’ so good.”

Fairway has led the way in providing more personalized customer-centric shopping experiences—including its in-store foodie experts program, assisted shopping for the visually impaired, Instacart, and Google Shopping Express delivery services. Its 6% For Sixty program, already a success in its Paramus, Woodland Park, and Nanuet stores, is expected to be enthusiastically welcomed by Long Island customers.

“The Long Island region is one of the most densely populated in the nation when it comes to people over 60 years old,” said Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. “And these people are important consumers. They like to shop and they do so often. So I congratulate Fairway Market for implementing this program that caters to our senior adults in such a meaningful way.”

Starting Thursday, August 21, 6% For Sixty applicants can sign up by providing a photo ID that verifies their eligibility. For more information, please inquire at the customer service desk in the Westbury, Plainview, and Lake Grove Fairway Market stores. Learn more
