It was a dark and stormy night . . . but a warm and friendly day at Chabad on Wednesday. Five Towns residents who had braved out Hurricane Sandy only to spend the subsequent days and nights digging out without power and with much damage were warmly welcomed to Chabad of the Five Towns. Rabbi Zalman and Rebbetzin Chanie Wolowik invited the community over for free hot, fresh food courtesy of Qcumbers and the opportunity to recharge electronics, body, and soul.
Rebbetzin Rivka Kotlarsky’s weekly shiur went on as usual on Wednesday. Then everyone enjoyed some great soups, pastas, sandwiches, fries, and more, thanks to Nachi Light from Qcumbers. Catching up with friends was also a highlight of the day. Children enjoyed an impromptu program by youth directors Rabbi Meir and Rebbetzin Hadassah Geisinsky, offering them the chance to run around and play together in a stress-free environment and also watch a short Jewish film.
