Shabbat youth groups melaveh malkah. January 3, 7:30 p.m.A special night for all the exceptional daveners. For boys and girls in grades 1–6. Good food, fun games, amazing prizes. Fee: $5 per child. RSVP Rabbi Meir, ext. 19.

Friendship Circle, grandparents day. January 4, 1:00–2:30 p.m.Drop-off program for children with special needs. Grandparents/special-person day is a chance to bond and do fun activities with your grandparents! (refreshments, crafts, and music and movement). Fee: $10 per child. Smile on Seniors.January 6, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Smile on Seniors is a unique program created to enhance the lives of local seniors. Program includes exercise, crafts, music, discussions, and a light brunch is served. This session is Book Club with Dr. Annette Labovitz, discussing The Prime Ministers. There is no charge for the program. All religious levels welcome.

Monthly women’s evening class with Mrs. Chaya Franklin. January 6, 8:30 p.m. This year, together with Mrs. Franklin, we will explore Torah as it relates to us on a psychological, emotional, and spiritual level. Suggested donation of $10 per person.

Loaves of Love with Chanie Wolowik. January 8, 10:00 a.m. Women and girls are invited to learn the art of baking challah and to experience the beauty of this important mitzvah. At the Wolowik home, 748 Central Avenue in Woodmere. Reservations required by Tuesday, January 6, 5:00 p.m.

Friendship Circle–Moms’ Night Out.January 8, 8:30 p.m. Respite program for mothers of children with special needs. Come relax, socialize, and network with other moms. HafrashatChallah Event. Make challah and daven for another person’s child (All ingredients and supplies will be provided). At the home of Mrs. Sharrone Glick, 20 Burton Avenue in Woodmere. Fee: $5 suggested donation. Friendship Circle Sunday Circle trip. January 11, 1:00–3:00 p.m.Drop-off program for children with special needs. Trip to Great Play in Woodmere, a new interactive sports and fitness center. Drop-off and pickup at Great Play, 1012 Railroad Avenue in Woodmere (located next to Key Food supermarket; this is not the Sports Club). Space is limited; sibs will be waitlisted. Family Shabbat dinner at Chabad.January 30, 6:00 p.m. A full catered Shabbat dinner in honor of the 10th of Shevat, the yahrzeit of the previous Lubavitcher Rebbe and the day the Lubavitcher Rebbe, ob’m, assumed leadership in 1951. Rabbi Yisroel Deren, Chabad regional director of Connecticut, will inspire with personal stories to commemorate this auspicious day. There will also be a special program for children. Reservations are necessary by Tuesday, January 27 at 5:00 p.m. Fee: $30 per adult; $20 per child.
