The final night of Chanukah is often bittersweet as we celebrate the last of eight days, knowing we will have to wait a full year before the holiday comes around again. The Central family said farewell to Chanukah with a bang! Students, parents, siblings, and other loved ones gathered in the Central gym for a spirited evening of bonding and celebration. After opening remarks from Mrs. CB Neugroschl, Ms. Miriam Borenstein led a communal Chanukah candle-lighting. The girls energetically participated in the first of several rounds of enthusiastic dancing before enjoying a delicious dinner catered by Carlos and Gabby’s. Mrs. Elana Rand delivered a d’var Torah and then introduced Central’s renowned performing arts clubs. The audience was wowed by the manifold talents of the student body. Central extends a yasher koach to all performers, especially club heads Rachel Salvit (’15) of choir, Allison Reich (’15) of band, Aviva Massihesraelian (’15) and Tali Greenberg (’15) of stomp, Daniella Bressler (’15) and Talia Edelman (’15) of dance, and Shira Levy (’16) and Eli Sharvit (’16) of poetry. The subsequent dancing brought together parents, teachers, and family members, who all demonstrated what makes a Central chagigah so warm and uplifting.
