Touro College and University System has scheduled an important and informative discussion titled “Anti-Israel Bias: How real and widespread is it, and how can we respond to it?” The event is to take place on Monday, November 21, 7:00 p.m., at Lander College for Women—The Anna Ruth and Mark Hasten School, 227 West 60th Street in Manhattan.

Students and community members are invited to join Touro President Dr. Alan Kadish and special guest Representative Mark Meadows (R-North Carolina)–a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Middle East and North Africa–for what promises to be a lively and engaging interactive forum. Congressman Meadows has been an outspoken advocate for Israel’s right to self-defense and has made protecting the U.S.—Israel strategic partnership a top priority.

“Israel is one of our country’s strongest allies and a beacon for democracy in the Middle East,” said Congressman Meadows. “The United States must defend and support Israel at all costs and work to help facilitate peace and stability in the region.”

A real-estate developer and former restaurant owner, Congressman Meadows has served the 11th Congressional District in western North Carolina since 2013 and is recognized for his conservative positions on key initiatives, including business and defense. He was a congressional delegate to the United Nations General Assembly and currently serves on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee as well as the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Dr. Kadish underscored the significance of Congressman Meadows’s support of Israel and his efforts to eradicate growing anti-Israel bias in the United Nations. “We’ve reached a critical point in a time of increasingly tumultuous national and global affairs. We need to communicate and partner with policymakers such as Congressman Meadows to ensure the future of the Jewish people and the State of Israel,” said Dr. Kadish.

The program is presented as part of the Touro College Presidential Lecture Series and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
