Despite truce, fighting in Gaza continues

Rocket fire into Israel continues two hours into 72-hour cease-fire; Palestinian media reports at least four killed from IDF artillery fire, three others shot by IDF sniper fire in the southern Gaza Strip.

Just two hours into a 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire brokered by the US and the UN, fighting resumed in Gaza, with two rockets being shot into Israel and reported heavy artillery fire in southern Gaza

Four Palestinians were killed and 20 others were injured in an Israeli artillery attack near Rafiah, according to Palestinian media reports.

Palestinian sources also reported that three other people were shot by IDF sniper fire in the southern Gaza Strip.
An IDF spokesperson said she was looking into the incidents.

Around the same time, two Code Red sirens were heard in Eshkol Regional Council. Two rockets landed in an open area, reported Channel 10.

It was not immediately clear whether the rocket fire or the alleged shelling came first.
