The editorial board of the Five Towns Jewish Times gives its enthusiastic endorsement to Dov Hikind for NY State Assembly, representing the 48th District (Boro Park and Flatbush). Dov Hikind has proven himself a tireless fighter for the entire Jewish community and in particular his constituents. He is at the forefront of every major issue concerning the welfare of the community and has led countless fights on behalf of our causes, institutions, and individuals. In his last two years in office, he has effectively delivered an unprecedented security-surveillance system to his community, delivered substantial financial aid to rabbinical college students via the Tuition Assistance Program, brought financial relief to parents of children with special education needs, and delivered fully paid return transportation for yeshiva children.
Hikind is one of New York State’s greatest champions of yeshiva Education Investment Credits which, when passed, will ease the burden of all parents with children in yeshiva. The New York Jewish community, and Brooklyn in particular, is indeed fortunate to have such a champion as Dov Hikind fighting for them. The Five Towns Jewish Times is extremely grateful for all that this extraordinary statesman has done over the many years for Klal Yisrael.

From Gedolei Torah
HaRav Chaim Yisroel Belsky, shlita, and HaRav Yisroel Reisman, shlita, are both urging the entire community to turn out in strong numbers and vote in the coming election for New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind. Both rabbanim expressed the value of maintaining Hikind’s leadership and representation in State office on behalf of the Flatbush and Boro Park Jewish community.
In response to this, Assemblyman Hikind said, “I am honored to be endorsed by two of our community’s most respected rabbanim, HaRav Chaim Yisroel Belsky, shlita, and HaRav Yisroel Reisman, shlita. I know that neither of these beloved Torah leaders give their personal endorsement lightly and I am truly humbled by their continued faith in me as I seek reelection.”
Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Belsky is a world-recognized posek and a leading rosh yeshiva in Yeshiva Torah Vodaath. He received his semichah from Yeshiva Torah Vodaath in 1962, and from Rabbi Moshe Feinstein in 1965.
