An Egyptian jihadist organization affiliated with al-Qaida beheaded a Beduin resident of the Sinai Peninsula for allegedly collaborating with Israel, it was announced on Friday.
According to Egyptian defense sources, the group, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis executed the man, 35, whose headless body was found on Friday by residents of the Sinai village of Al-Qaria, just south of the city of Sheikh Zayed.
The victim was abducted two weeks ago by the organization, which sought to coerce him to confess his membership with Mossad, Egyptian sources said.
In recent days, 10 Beduin have been executed by beheading. The fate of four others believed to be held captive by Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis remains unknown.
