NBA basketball star Amar’e Stoudemire stopped into downtown New York City Kosher hotspot J Soho Wednesday night for dinner with friends and family.
“He wore a cap and when he removed it he has this cool yarmulke under it. It was knitted and in color. definitely not the typical yarmulke,” J Soho co-owner Menachem Senderowicz told The Algemeiner, adding that Amar’e’s headgear was “huge.”
“Only someone as fashionable as Amar’e Stoudemire can ‘own’ a yarmulke the way he wears it,” Senderowicz gushed.
No word on what Stoudemire ate, but whatever it was he probably ate a lot of it as he is 6ft 10 inches tall.
Stoudemire publicly embraced Judaism in 2010 when he discovered he had roots in the religion. The discovery was followed by a high profile visit to Israel the same year. He was married in 2012 in a modest Jewish ceremony.
