The Moshiach Cruise, launching Geulah Generation’s “Great & Glorious Hakhel Convention on Lag BaOmer, Thursday, 18 Iyar, May 26, is coinciding with an exciting day in New York Harbor: Fleet Week. U.S. Navy battleships, cruisers, and air force carriers will be on view. Included among the ships is the Kingston from the Royal Canadian Navy. The convergence of these ships may be accompanied by air shows.

Since this ninth annual convention is honoring the mitzvah of hakhel, the Moshiach Cruise is hosting mothers, girls, and babies, just as were present in the hakhel of long ago in the Beis HaMikdash to hear the Torah read by the King.

Free transportation is available to and from the boat at 2100 Emmons Avenue in Sheepshead Bay. Bus leaves from the corner of Kingston and President Street at 3:30 p.m. The four-hour cruise returns at 9:00 p.m. Bus should be back in Crown Heights by 9:30 p.m.

Mirele Rosenberger will provide live music, an important feature of every Lag BaOmer celebration. The popular entertainer Shoshana Bander will lead a singalong.

Inspiring speakers include: Nurit Sarytchev of Russian Junior Nshei, Pearl Lebovic, shulcha in Maplewood, NJ, and Avigail Halevy. Catering is by Tzipporah Hahn, @KosherPartyPlanner.

The highlight of the program will be the auction of a Rebbe Dollar from 1988. Many miracles happened and are happening through these “Sunday dollars,” now in great demand.

The Hakhel Convention continues Friday through Shabbos. Friday at 11:00 a.m. there will be a dvar malchus class in 770, followed by a luncheon at Mendy’s at 1:00 p.m., featuring an arts-and-crafts workshop, “The Welcoming Nest,” with life coach Miriam Raquel Feldman. Shabbos day is also at Mendy’s, 1:00 p.m., and features guest speaker Shulamis Yehudis Gutfreund, formerly a reporter with the Miami Herald. Luncheons are $36 each.

Free events open to everyone include: shalosh seudos, 6:30 p.m. at 1601 Carroll Street, and melaveh malkah, 555 Crown Street, Apt. 1A.
