Gotcha: Cops Arrest Brooklyn Man in $10K Menorah Theft

Police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the theft last week of an antique menorah valued at approximately $10,000 in Brooklyn last week.

The burglary, at the home of a prominent rabbi, was caught on clear surveillance video. The video showed the burglar entering the home at 999 East 5th St. at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, going through the back door and stealing various religious articles, including the menorah.

The burglar was wearing a Yarmulke, white shirt, black slacks and black dress shoes.

Police announced Monday they arrested 25-year-old Denis Ildatov and charged him with burglary and criminal possession of stolen property. Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.
