Great Neck resident Andria Coopersmith was recently selected to receive the prestigious Maimonides Award from the Touro College School of Health Sciences, where she completed her degree in the Physician Assistant program through Winthrop University Hospital. The award recognizes an outstanding student in each of the school’s health sciences programs, which include occupational therapy, physician assistant, and speech and language pathology. John Rongo, director of Touro’s PA program, praised Coopersmith, saying she had “stood out consistently in her academic and clinical achievements.”

In addition, Coopersmith attained high marks in teacher evaluations and peer recommendations. Dr. Joseph Tommasino, chair of the department, added, “Andria’s endeavors have demonstrated the highest professional ideals of a health-sciences professional.”
