New York — Councilman David G. Greenfield thanked the NYPD today for their swift action and response to the anti-semitic graffiti that was sprayed across Boro Park at over twenty locations over Shabbos/Saturday this weekend. Sources within the NYPD have confirmed to Greenfield that the suspect the police have in custody is a former NYPD officer.

Councilman Greenfield worked through the night in close communication with the NYPD, Shomrim and community leaders addressing this hateful act.

“I thank the NYPD for their swift action in this rash of disgusting hate crimes,” said Councilman Greenfield. I was out there last night with them until 3 AM and they were still working the scenes to try and apprehend the suspect. This is a testament to how seriously the NYPD takes hate crimes. The fact that the suspect is a former member of the NYPD is certainly shocking. However, it makes the NYPD’s quick response in apprehending and arresting him even more impressive.” …read more
