A wise person once noted, “Do not underestimate the determination of a powerful woman.” Elisheva Rosen is the epitome of this statement. Her perseverance and motivation took a simple idea—providing fashionable frum-wear to the Far Rockaway and Five Towns communities—into a thriving clothing and accessories store: Fame. The popularity of Fame, and the high demand of its merchandise, are the ripples of Fame’s best-kept secret—its owner and creator, Elisheva. “Most customers of Fame come in looking for a top or a skirt, but what they soon realize, is that at Fame, it’s about creating an outfit, an image, and undoubtedly, making our patrons feel like the confident, respected, and beautiful women that they are.”
In only a few years, Elisheva took a dream and made it come to fruition. “There is no such thing as a frum women’s department store, but I envision creating one someday. The new Fame, at our much-expanded and renovated facility at 419 Central Avenue in Cedarhurst, is the closest thing that comes to that type of venue. My clients have always been demanding the clothes and accessories I sell, and a bigger facility was necessary to provide them with the utmost ease in their personal shopping experience.”
This past Sunday, Fame had its grand opening in a new facility, with the first 100 customers receiving $20 gift cards. The excitement was palpable, not only for the women in attendance (teenagers, college students, young professionals, mothers, grandmothers, and more), but also for a most determined woman, who has persevered in making her dream a reality.
A 41-year-old Far Rockaway mother of seven in attendance exclaimed, “It’s beautiful and such a warm atmosphere. It’s like a shopping mall and a boutique in one. It’s so pleasant to shop here.”
A Lawrence resident and high-school student went to Fame with her grandmother to check out its new and improved facility. “The clothes at Fame are really cute, the prices are great, but most importantly, it’s just very ‘my style.’”
“You cover all the basics when you come here,” said an enthusiastic Woodmere local. “The variety and style is modest but chic. And I just love the jewelry . . . it’s so refined, classy, and makes me feel radiant.”
“Elisheva is amazing. My whole wardrobe is from Fame. The clothes are so classy and comfortable. I can wear the clothing to work, on Shabbos, and even on the weekends to go out. They are just so versatile and make me feel a self-confidence that I never knew existed. And when adding Fame’s jewelry and belts to complement an outfit, I am unstoppable. There is no other store that has the impeccable service and stunning clothing, not to mention the stylish and gorgeous accessories as Fame,” one avid Fame shopper stated.
With the encouragement of her family and friends, we wish much success to Elisheva as Fame embarks on a new journey at its bigger and better location. Come check it out! You will surely be mesmerized. v
