What would learning Parashat Noach be without a visit from some animals? This year, the HAFTR Early Childhood Center received a special visit from Bob and his friends at Petland Discounts. The animals didn’t necessarily come in two by two, but the children were fascinated as they were exposed to this wonderful lesson in zoology. They also got firsthand experience of what Noach must have gone through. Thanks to our friends at Petland, HAFTR had a rabbit, a macaw, a hedgehog, a baby and mama boa constrictor, a baby and mama iguana, a bearded dragon, and a sugar glider all the way from Australia. In addition, Bob from Petland talked to the children about the differences between birds and mammals.

The teachers decided to make a human rainbow out of Hashem’s best gift of all—our children. All of the children were assigned a special color to wear and then they all stood together by color and formed an arc. On a gorgeous, sunny Wednesday, a rainbow appeared right in HAFTR’s playground.
