‘Homeland’ (Based on an Israeli Show) Wins Big at Golden Globes

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — “Homeland,” the Showtimes series based on the Israeli show “Hatufim,” has won the Golden Globe for best TV drama series.

The other nominees Sunday night were “Breaking Bad,” “Boardwalk Empire,” ”Downton Abbey” and “The Newsroom.”

Also winning for “Homeland” were Damian Lewis and Claire Danes in the categories of best actor and actress in a drama series.

The 70th annual Golden Globes are airing live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
