The Queens community and well beyond mourned the sudden petirah early last Thursday of Rabbi Avrohom Yaakov Ginzberg, z’l. For over half a century, Rabbi Ginzberg served as the executive director of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Queens and as the rav of Congregation Chofetz Chaim of Forest Hills. He was admired by the generations of students of the yeshiva and by his congregants for his devotion to the yeshiva and his shul, and beloved for his gentle, warm, and caring nature. In future weeks the Five Towns Jewish Times will iy’H carry a fuller tribute to Rabbi Ginzberg.
