Israel Backs Off Ukraine Drone Deal, Fearing Russian Ire: Report (VIDEO)

Israel is finding itself “walking between the raindrops” over fighting between Russia and Ukraine, with the Foreign and Defense ministries clashing over a proposed offer to supply unmanned aircraft to Kiev, Israel’s Channel 2 News reported Monday.

While the Ministry of Defense confirmed the drone deal, via an Ukrainian delegation that visited Israel in recent weeks, the Foreign Ministry stepped in, and stopped the agreement, reportedly, in order not to anger Moscow.

Part of the opposition to the “Aeronautics” unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) firm arms deal may have been concern that Russia could react by stepping up arms deals with Iran and Syria in retribution.

The Defense Ministry chose not to comment, saying that they “do not comment on Israel’s arms deals.”
