Israel resumed its strikes on Gaza terror targets after Hamas terrorists in the coastal enclave rejected an Egyptian proposed ceasefire agreement and fired volleys of rockets into Israel on Tuesday morning.
“Hamas has fired 47 rockets since we suspended our strikes in Gaza at 9 am. As a result, we have resumed our operation against Hamas,” the Israel Defense Forces said on Twitter.
Earlier Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned, “If Hamas rejects the Egyptian proposal, and the rocket fire from Gaza does not cease, and that appears to be the case now, we are prepared to continue and intensify our operation to protect our people.”
“For this we have kept full support from the responsible members of the international community,” he said.
