Israeli Army Retrieves Crashed Drone From Hebron Palestinians

A small Israeli army drone crashed into the roof of a Palestinian home in Hebron on Sunday, as the Israeli army’s Operation Brother’s Keeper to find three kidnapped teens entered its ninth day.

Citing a “technical malfunction,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesman said the “unmanned aircraft fell in the Hebron area, and was handed over to security forces.”

Palestinian security forces said they confiscated the device, which was discovered by local residents, according to Israeli daily Ma’ariv, and handed over the craft to the IDF.

Elsewhere, the search for Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, 16, who were abducted from a hitchhiking post in the Gush Etzion bloc, south of Jerusalem, continued.

The IDF put out an unusual request via social media for volunteers to help in the search in the area, and specifically noted that volunteers needed to be well-versed in the local geography, and specified that the army could not take responsibility for their well-being.

Army units combing Palestinian areas in the south Hebron hills region discovered a series of tunnels hidden behind false walls and under appliances, according to the IDF, as well as bomb making facilities in civilian apartment buildings.

Nine Palestinian suspects were detained overnight, the army said, and five sites affiliated with Hamas “Dawa” Islamic charities were raided.

In Nablus, soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian who “approached a post in a suspicious manner,” an IDF source said, according to the newspaper.

In central Ramallah, a Palestinian was shot dead, although the IDF disavowed any connection to the event. Palestinian-filmed footage from the night before showed rioters attacking a Palestinian police station in the vicinity and strings of gunfire could be heard.
