An Israeli Channel 2 News team was attacked on Thursday evening by an angry crowd of onlookers, near the site of a stabbing attack that had taken place shortly beforehand, Channel 2 News Online reported.
Reporter Porat Nassar, photographer Shimon Levi and soundman Yaakov Hershkovitz arrived on the scene to report on the attack, which left an IDF soldier critically wounded.
As they were doing their jobs, a group of Afula residents began to surround them, hurling epithets against the media in general and Channel 2 in particular. Some shoved and began to hit them. Hershkovitz was lightly injured and evacuated to the city’s Emek Medical Center for treatment.
