A new video was released by Israel’s Yasam Military Police Unit showing a snippet of the violence that occurs every Friday on the Temple Mount, Israeli Channel 2’s military station reported on Wednesday.

The video shows what an average day of dealing with tensions atop the Temple Mount looks like.

It begins the moment riot officers organize themselves, donning their protective body armor over signature black jumpsuits. Wearing helmets, and carrying their weapons in case of emergency, they receive their briefing from their commanding officer.

One of the riot officers says, “we arrive very early in the morning, when [the Muslims are] praying – quiet hours when you pass the time and prepare for what comes afterward.”

The riot police officers are also filmed the moment they broke through a barricade into the Temple Mount as worshipers threw stones and others incited to violence.

They are shown subduing the crowd with tear gas as flares are hurled near the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Several seeking shelter in the mosque also throw stones.

At another point, the officers are shown carrying their riot shields such as in the Testudo formation to protect themselves from the rocks being hurled at them while they try to quell the barricaded crowd.

One of the riot police officers says, “I can’t believe what’s happening here. They are really gearing up for a war; they are really trying to harm, to kill.”

Riot police are also shown confronting ultra-Orthodox Jewish rioters, who are overturning trashcans, with heavy water cannons.
