Israeli Pianist Boris Giltburg Wins Prestigious Queen Elizabeth Competition (VIDEO)

Israeli pianist Boris Giltburg won the prestigious Queen Elizabeth competition in Brussels, Belgium on Saturday. The 28 year-old won the 76-year-old competition through a mix of originality, impeccable technique and emotional performance, the European Jewish Press reported.

“It’s incredible. This feels fantastic,” Giltburg said upon receiving the award. “My performance must have been appreciated by the jury. I am very grateful to the jury for giving me first place. I will try to cherish this victory and get the most out of it.”

In 2011 Giltburg won the second prize in the International Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition, the highest achievement of any Israeli pianist in the history of the competition.
