Itzhak Perlman And Y.M. Helfgot At Park East Concert, December 16

Cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot

The tradition of cantorial music has enhanced the prayers and worship of Jewish congregants around the world. Admired for his incredible range, Cantor Yitzchak Meir Helfgot has emerged as one of the leading voices to revitalize the chazzanut movement of the 21st century. He enthralls audiences the world over with his passion for bringing sacred Jewish music and opera classics to life.

Known for its academic and creative excellence, the Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School also has a passion for joining all facets of the arts, math, science, technology, and Jewish tradition in a well-rounded, boutique education for children from toddlers through grade eight. The day school, along with Park East Synagogue, proudly invites you to join Chief Cantor Helfgot, Maestro Russell Ger, and the Park East Synagogue Choir at this year’s annual benefit concert in support of Jewish education.

On Sunday evening, December 16, in an unprecedented twist on a deeply rooted Park East tradition, world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman will make a guest appearance during the program. Both masters of their craft, Cantor Helfgot and Mr. Perlman will delight the audience with selections from their recent Sony collaboration, Eternal Echoes: Songs and Dances for the Soul. Together, they will celebrate the exuberant spirit of Jewish music and inspire the continuity of this tradition for years to come. As Cantor Benny Rogosnitzky, lead coordinator of the concert, stated, “Cantor Helfgot remains a leader in the vitality of the cantorial tradition, and the dancing, playful voice of the violin is the perfect complement to the cantor’s operatic tenor.”

All proceeds of the concert will be dedicated to the scholarship fund to ensure that every child who enters the Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School can receive a Jewish education.
