Eleventh Annual Dinner. Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino and Legislator Howard J. Kopel saluted the guests of honor at the 11th Annual Jewish Community Center of the Greater Five Towns Dinner at the Sephardic Temple on Branch Boulevard. Santino and Kopel praised the award recipients for their dedication to the community, their families, and neighbors in the Five Towns.

Caregivers Support Group. Meets the first Tuesday of the month. Next meeting will be on Tuesday, June 4, 7:30 p.m. at 207 Grove Avenue in Cedarhurst; side door. This group is for people who are caring for an elderly loved one and who may find themselves trying to meet the demands of work, family, and care giving, all at the same time, meeting everyone else’s needs but their own. New Phase I Bereavement Group. The initial stages of grief can be a painful and lonely time. You are not alone in those feelings and should not be alone in your grief. If you are coping with the loss of a spouse, please join the JCC for support, guidance, information, and friendship. This six-week group will begin Thursday, June 6 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at 207 Grove Avenue in Cedarhurst. $40 fee/program. Pre-registration is a must.
