Kenya FM: We Are ‘Not Going to Apologize for Being Friends With Israel’

Officials in Kenya have leaned on Israel over the last several days for assistance in combating al Shahab terrorists who attacked a mall in Nairobi, and they’re unrepentant for having done so, according to a report in The Journal of Ireland.

“We are not going to apologize for being friends with Israel and other nations,” Amina Mohammed, the Kenyan foreign minister, said.

Terrorists attacked the mall on Saturday, killing at least 62 people, the Kenya Red Cross said in its last accounting on Monday. The terrorists also took hostages, holing up in the mall over the weekend. According to reports, Israeli “experts” took on an advisory role to Kenyan authorities battling the hostages.

The mall “is under the full control of govt forces and we are carrying out a sweep to ensure (it’s) safe for everyone,” Kenyan police tweeted Tuesday, though there were still reports of gunfire emanating from the premises.

Tweets from the terrorists also implicated three Arab-American teenagers in the brutal attack.
