Many bubbies take the prize for the best matzah balls, or kneidels (kneidlach) as they’re affectionately called in Yiddish. Lipton Kosher is out to make that a universal truth this Passover. Whether you prefer them dense or fluffy, Lipton Kosher will help ensure that your matzah balls are just like your Bubby’s.

Originating in Eastern Europe, the kneidel is one of the most timeless Passover symbols. It is a food steeped in years of Jewish tradition. In recent years the matzah ball has created quite a stir in the culinary world: Are matzah balls supposed to be sinkers or floaters? Is it a food to be modernized with spinach or tomato paste, or is it a sacred dish that should remain untouched? These discussions have led to a serious revival of the kneidel. Many traditionalists will stick strictly to the standard recipe, but others prefer to modernize recipes with herbs and vegetables. Some even add matzah balls to other varieties of soup, such as pumpkin and zucchini. Whatever your taste buds call for, Lipton Kosher’s matzah-ball mix offers the versatility to recreate your Bubby’s recipe or venture along the matzah-ball road less traveled.

“Passover is a time when families gather and enjoy many meals together. Matzah-ball soup is such a classic dish, and a mix that is versatile enough to be used in different recipes definitely makes life easier for those spending hours in the kitchen,” said Brent Malone, associate brand-building manager at Unilever International North America, which carries the Lipton Kosher brand, including the matzah-ball mix. “We are happy to offer a tasty solution this Passover and help enhance the Jewish traditions.”

Also available this Passover is Lipton Kosher Chicken Flavor Consommé, which makes a delicious addition to your poultry, meat, and vegetable dishes.
