altWith a record attendance, this year’s TAG dinner proved to be a most enjoyable, uplifting, and meaningful evening. TAG was privileged to pay tribute to Mr. and Mrs. Tzvi Perl as Guests of Honor, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schick as the recipients of the HaRav Moshe Weitman z’l Memorial Award, and Mr. and Mrs. Chesky Newman, who were named as Parents of the Year. A special Community Service Award was presented to Gourmet Glatt, which was accepted by Mr. and Mrs. Moshe Ratner and Mr. and Mrs. Yoeli Steinberg in recognition of all that Gourmet Glatt does for the community in general and for TAG in particular.
A very special memorial tribute to the unforgettable Rabbi Amos Bunim, zt’l, was most meaningful. Rabbi Bunim, z’l, a key founder of TAG, accepted the founder’s award on behalf of all the founders, at last year’s dinner and his emotional words about the mesirus nefesh of those founders reverberated once again. The TAG family felt blessed to have R’ Amos as a guiding light and supporter for close to half a century. He is certainly missed, but it is a comfort to his family to know that his legacy lives on within the walls of this school.
The dinner also afforded TAG the opportunity to gratefully acknowledge the generosity of Yitzchok and Shani Ganger, who dedicated the new preschool Early Childhood Center in memory of their parents, Mr. Joseph Ganger, a’h, and Rabbi and Mrs. Aryeh Leib Newman, a’h. As their lives were depicted in the video, these outstanding individuals, who were Holocaust survivors, valued educating the future generations of K’lal Yisrael as the most significant mission in their lives. Baruch Hashem, their own great-granddaughters are now attending TAG and the over 350 young talmidos who will be attending the TAG preschool next year will be living testimony to their ideals.
Rabbi Meyer Weitman spoke about the challenges ahead as TAG continues to build. While, baruch Hashem, stage 1 of the expansion is nearing completion, ground must be broken on stage 2 before the new school year, in order to accommodate the large incoming enrollment. As TAG looks back with pride on its sterling reputation and accomplishments, it looks forward to a bright new future as this coming September, they begin, baruch Hashem, their Yovel year.
