Lucky To Be Alive: Texting And Driving
A Washington state teenager is lucky to be alive after a fence post speared through his windshield as he allegedly used his cell phone while driving.
The post “nearly took his head off,” Washington State Patrol Trooper Russ Winger told KATU-TV.
Witnesses said the 18-year-old was text messaging and driving erratically near Abderdeen on Saturday.

It was a nearly miraculous escape
The teen made a U-turn and then careened off the side of the highway, slamming into a fence.
Photos show that the fence post impaled the windshield at a potentially deadly angle just above the steering wheel.
Miraculously, the driver only suffered minor lacerations to his face, according to KATU.
