Madraigos Hosts Priority‑1 H.S. After Storm

Priority‑1’s Torah Academy high school had a beautiful facility, located right on the beach in Far Rockaway. As you can imagine, when the storm surge came, it barreled through the sandbags and other fortifications, destroying the doorway and filling the school with four feet of water. Everything was destroyed: computers, books, furniture…everything.

The school building is going to take a month or two to repair, so Priority‑1 turned to the community to find a temporary location, as so many schools have been forced to do. And as we have seen in many instances in the aftermath of Sandy, there was a helping hand waiting.

Madraigos welcomed the Torah Academy into their beautiful facility in Woodmere, where the Priority‑1 boys were able to resume classes in a comfortable and convenient atmosphere. There couldn’t be a more fitting match, as Madraigos addresses the needs of youth in our community through their many programs. Priority‑1 is thankful to Madraigos for their generosity, kindness, and hospitality.
