A leading Jewish human rights organization told The Algmeiner on Monday why the wife of an NFL player should express remorse for accusing Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross of hiring “Jewish buddies.”

“Her comments can be construed as antisemitic,” said Simon Wiesenthal Center Associate Dean Rabbi Abraham Cooper. “If she wants to know why, let her just slot in African American or Latino. She should apologize.” He added, “The good news about sports is that at the bottom line, you are judged not by the color of your skin, but by how well your team performs. It’s a shame that this tweet doesn’t live up to the positive power of sports.”

Miko Grimes, wife of former Dolphins and current Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes, sparked controversy on Monday when she tweeted, “Gotta respect ross for keeping his jew buddies employed but did he not see how tannenbaum put the jets in the dumpster w/that sanchez deal?”

Miko was referring to Dolphins Executive Vice President Mike Tannenbaum.

Shortly after her post, Twitter users accused her of being racist, antisemitic and “a really low-class person.” Some followers said her remarks may even affect her husband’s career.

“You know the Tampa owner is Jewish right? You’re about to get your husband released,” said one Twitter user, while another wrote, “You may have just cost hubby a contract.”

An ESPN Insider analyst called Miko a “crazy bigot,” and Jay Glazer, FOX Sports NFL insider, told Brent’s wife, “Please Shut the f—k up! Sincerely, the Jew buddy of ur husbands who first got him trained in [mixed martial arts] MMA.”

The Buccaneers decided not to comment on Miko’s remarks, and the Dolphins told ProFootballTalk that the team would also refrain from commenting on the matter. Meanwhile, Miko responded to the criticism by going on the offensive.

“America is so f—king soft! No wonder we’re able to fake terrorist attacks (which are nothing but genocide on our own ppl) & yall believe it,” she tweeted.

“Its crazy how people still dont know the true meaning of being a racist,” she added. “They think ‘if im offended, that person is a racist’ how stupid!”

When one follower write, “I’ve never been negative towards you because I think your honest, but ‘Jew Buddies’? No need to be antisemitic,” Miko responded, “U thinks thats antisemitic? Ur soft as puppy s—t!Go cry in the corner. And stay off twitter, its for real n—as.”

This is not the first time Miko has slammed the Dolphins, according to CBS Sports. In December, she engaged in a long rant on Twitter against Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, attributing the firing of coach Joe Philbin earlier in the season to that. In January, she called the NFL “greedy, shady and anti-women.”
