This Shabbos, Congregation Beth Sholom in Lawrence will present Rabbi Ronen Neuwirth and Pnina Neuwirth.

Rabbi Neuwirth serves as the rabbi of Ohel Ari Congregation in Raanana. Recently he cofounded the new movement “Beit Hillel—Tolerant Spiritual Leadership.” Rav Neuwirth served as a captain in the Israeli Navy Special Forces. He received semichah from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and received a B.A. in mathematics and computer science from Bar Ilan University.

Pnina Neuwirth is a lawyer specializing in tax and commercial law and has a Ph.D. in tax law from Haifa University. She teaches law at Haifa and Bar Ilan and Torah in Matan HaSharon Raanana and in other settings. She was a visiting professor at Stern College in the fields of Torat Eretz Yisrael and Jewish philosophy.

At 11:00 a.m., Pnina will speak about the “Israel-Arab Conflict: A Political-Spiritual Perspective.” At 7:30 p.m. Rabbi Neuwirth will present a pre-Minchah shiur, “The Case for Relevant Spiritual Leadership: Judaism, Zionism, and Multiculturalism.” At 8:15 p.m. seudah shelishit, the Neuwirths will present “Inequality and the Exclusion of Women in the Public Sphere: Two Perspectives.” v
