News From The Hills

By Chanita Teitz

June is the month of graduations, weddings, and anniversaries. Last Sunday we happily attended the graduation of our grandson Mordechai Weiss and his classmates at Yeshiva Ketana of Queens. As Rabbi Kessler, the menahel, said, “The boys have grown from little children to young men,” going on to the next stage in their lives. We wish them all hatzlachah in high school and in the future!

From the graduation we went to Brooklyn to participate in the beautiful wedding of Jared and Debra Okun. Jared’s mother has worked for us, specializing in selling homes in Hillcrest for many years. My berachah to the newlyweds is to build a bayis ne’eman b’Yisrael in good health and with much joy.

We have several family anniversaries in June, including mine and Akiva’s, and we got married on his Hebrew birthday. Mazal tov to our children who are celebrating June birthdays and anniversaries.

Our grandson Moishie is graduating this week from kindergarten, and our granddaughter Sarah graduated last Sunday from Gan Devorah. Even the little ones are excited about these milestones and so are we!

Special tzeischem l’shalom to our grandson Boruch, who is heading to camp S’dei Chemed in Israel.

So, as the neighborhood empties out with kids going off to camps and families to bungalows or summer homes, we wish you all a good, happy, and healthy summer.
