I forgot last week to acknowledge Sori Tropper for sending me the information about Chickens for Shabbos and Yad Eliezer. Aside from the boots that were provided for the soldiers, 1,000 pairs of army regulation tzitzis were provided for the soldiers as well as care packages for soldiers on the front lines. Toys were also given to children living in the South.
Yitzchok Katzburg told me that Beit Gavriel raised $7,000 for tzitzis for the soldiers. Michael Salzbank posted on KGH Shuls that Bnos Malka held bake sales to raise money for the Gush Etzion foundation, which helps families of wounded soldiers.
The need for chesed, money, and our tefillos continues. While the world is burning in the Middle East as well as in Europe, there have also been pro-Palestinian marches right here. We are back to blatant anti-Semitism and the danger it brings. I just read of another broken cease-fire in Israel, the eleventh time that Hamas has broken one. Their demands are ridiculous and non-negotiable, so progress is never made. They are determined to destroy Israel. There can never be peace with the Arabs and certainly not with terrorists; they are unwilling to abide by western diplomacy.
The U.S. and the EU, by not striking hard against ISIS, are allowing the terrorists to continue their barbaric acts, beheadings, mutilations, slavery, and more and are tying Israel’s hands from hitting harder against Hamas. I think Israel should just ignore public opinion and finish the job that no one else wants to do. We will have to be prepared for the backlash—accelerated boycotts, increased isolation in the world, violent marches against Israel, increased rocket attacks, possible Intifada, and withholding of aid and ammunition from the U.S. So all of Klal Yisrael will have to do our share to take care of ourselves. Isn’t it about time?
Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis Speaks for Chazaq. On Sunday, August 17, the world-renowned Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis appeared live at Chazaq. The rebbetzin gave an exhilarating speech that left the women deeply touched and intensely motivated. Her message conveyed a strong sense of urgency for the women of our generation to be proactive in bringing the redemption. Her words moved the audience in a way that is rarely seen as she instilled strength and a feeling of empowerment into the hearts of everyone who received her words. With G‑d’s help, Chazaq hopes to continue bringing these types of events to all of Klal Yisrael. For more information, please contact Info@Chazaq.org.
