The enormity of the impact of Hurricane Sandy on the community continues to grow, and Ohel is meeting the unprecedented needs of individuals and families.
With flooding in the foyer of The Elly & Brochie Kleinman Ohel Regional Family Center in Far Rockaway, Ohel has now temporarily relocated services to 1135 Railroad Avenue in Hewlett.
David Mandel, CEO of Ohel, comments, “Ohel has acted quickly in finding a new location to serve not only those individuals and families who utilized Ohel services before the hurricane, but many in the community who are now suffering from anxiety or trauma and who can benefit from Ohel’s expertise in trauma counseling, individual and family counseling, and family case management services.”
Ohel is additionally opening a storefront presence at 125B Spruce Street in Cedarhurst, which will be a gateway of awareness to general Ohel services, Camp Kaylie, and the many volunteer opportunities at Ohel.
Ohel’s rapid-response team continues to operate in numerous locations throughout locations the Five Towns, the South Shore, the North Shore, and the Rockaways. For immediate assistance, please call 800-603-OHEL (6435)
