MIDWOOD — An out-of-control car plunged 40 feet into a construction site on Coney Island Avenue Wednesday, the FDNY said.

The car drove into the pit at 1507 Coney Island Avenue, near Avenue L, which is directly across the street  of the Pomegranate Supermarket, about 9:30 a.m., a spokesman said.

Aaron Melool, 54, owner of Better Image Contracting, who works at the construction site, said the woman blasted through a fence and drove into the ditch.

“When she came out of the car she was conscious and talking,” Melool said.
