Parlor Meeting To Benefit Slonim Institutions, April 16

By 5TJT Staff

For a number of years, Mr. and Mrs. Aron Kopelowitz have hosted an annual parlor meeting to benefit the Yeshiva Beth Avraham Slonim in Eretz Yisrael. This year the parlor meeting is to be held at their home, at 1223 Beach 9th Street in Far Rockaway, on Tuesday, April 16, at 8:00 p.m. This event is being held in memory of Aron’s late father, Rav Shmuel Yosef Kopelowitz, z’l, and everyone is urged to come out in support of such an important institution of Torah and Chassidus.

Founded in 1873 by Rav Avraham of Slonim, famed author of the Yesod Ha’Avodah, the Slonimer dynasty has occupied an important role in the spiritual development of Jews the world over, notwithstanding any prior affiliation to Chassidus. The popularity of Slonim and its teachings and religious warmth and fervor has skyrocketed, particularly during the life of Rabbi Shalom Noach Berezovsky, noted author of the Nesivos Shalom, which has contributed to genuine Jewish study and scholarship over the past 11 years since the Rebbe’s passing. Today, Slonim is headed by the great gaon and tzaddik Rav Shmuel Berezovsky who is author of the Darchei Noam on Shas, Torah, and the Moadim and continues to appeal to and inspire Jews from all streams of life with his Chassidic warmth.

This year, the parlor meeting will be addressed by HaGaon Rav Shlomo Weinberg, shlita, the son-in-law of the esteemed Rebbe, the Nesivos Sholom and mashgiach ruchani in the yeshiva. v
