Police Department Open House, May 14–16

The Nassau County Police Department invites the public to its Annual Open House 2014 at Police Headquarters, 1490 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, New York. Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, through Friday, May 16. Displays will be open each day from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., at which time the police helicopter will take off, weather permitting.

Several of the department’s units, such as Highway Patrol Bureau, Mounted and Canine Units, Bureau of Special Operations, Emergency Services Unit, Aviation and Marine Bureaus, Emergency Ambulance Bureau, the Police Academy, and the Arson Bomb Squad will stage ongoing demonstrations throughout the day. The event will also include a visit to the Police Museum and the Detention Cells.

Photos from prior years can be viewed on the Nassau County Police Department Facebook page. Advance reservations are not necessary to attend the Open House.
