On June 27, Priority-1 hosted an All Star 5-on-5 basketball tournament. The tournament featured eight of the best Jewish teams in New York. These teams have been the winners of many of the leagues that go on throughout the year and hailed from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Far Rockaway/Five Towns, and Queens, with some players traveling in from as far as New Jersey. The games were fiercely competitive with several games, including the championship, going into overtime!

In the end, the Yeshiva League All-Stars defeated the Manhattan All Stars in the final seconds, when star player Shelby Rosenberg was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer with 5.8 seconds left on the clock. Down by one point, the Manhattan team nearly scored, but couldn’t convert on the play and lost the game. When these two teams met earlier in the tournament, the Manhattan team squeezed out a win in another tightly contested bout between two heavyweights that foreshadowed the exciting title game.

Throughout the tournament, the action at the main court was streamed live online with play-by-play announcing and color commentary. Fans, friends, and family watched the games from afar, cheering on their favorite teams and players. The video can be seen at

Don’t miss the next installment of the Priority-1 Basketball tournament series, with the 29-and-up tournament on Thursday night, July 25, at the Aviator in Brooklyn. See you there! v
