To kick off this year’s AIPAC policy conference on Sunday, Professor Alan Dershowitz focused on one of Israel’s most innovative companies whose cutting-edge solutions are aiming to improve the quality of life for humankind around the world. The start-up nation’s answer to the problem of clean and accessible drinking water is Water-Gen Ltd.
Water-Gen has developed cutting-edge water generating technology and a line of products for household use as well as large-scale atmospheric water generator (AWG) modular units for generating clean drinking water from the air. This is a wonderful alternative solution to one of the most immediate world challenges.
Water-Gen taps this unlimited resource to provide an abundant, renewable source of fresh and clean drinking water by extracting it directly from the air. With patented technology and the world’s most energy-efficient AWG module of its kind, Water-Gen’s various models can serve the water needs from a small house to whole villages to an entire country. It is a “plug and drink” solution, requiring only electricity and no infrastructure.
Water-Gen has aroused much interest and enthusiasm, attracting the attention of prime ministers and presidents from many countries. Professor Dershowitz too is expressing much appreciation and support for Water-Gen’s accomplishments and the great moral achievements ahead in saving lives by providing a basic human need for survival.
In early March, the World Health Organization revealed that tainted water is one of the environmental factors causing the deaths of 1.7 million children during their first five years. The report, entitled, “Inheriting a Sustainable World: Atlas on Children’s Health and the Environment,” concluded that the most common causes of death among these children are diarrhea, malaria, and pneumonia, all preventable in part by access to safe water.
As Professor Dershowitz notes, “unavailability of clean water affects mortality and creates a deadly environment.” He is confident Water-Gen will change this and succeed in its mission to save lives today and in the future. “Water-Gen is focused on improving the quality of life for billions worldwide who suffer from inaccessibility to safe drinking water and thus saving millions of lives,” says Dershowitz. “Water-Gen uses this unlimited resource in the air to provide an abundant, renewable source of fresh and clean drinking water.”
In addition to its AWG line of products, which may also be powered by solar energy, Water-Gen has also developed portable water filtration solutions, designed to handle emergencies and benefit victims in relief efforts, including a lightweight, battery-operated filtration system for contaminated water resources, called the “Spring.” Senior governmental officials and international military bodies, including the Israel Defense Forces, are keen on utilizing Water-Gen’s expertise with emergency and rescue devices to handle emergencies and on search-and-rescue missions.
In the U.S., Water-Gen is already speaking with officials on the federal and state levels to set up preventive measures against contaminated water resources. The company is positioned to provide effective outcomes in California, Michigan, and other states where Water-Gen may provide an alternative solution for clean drinking water. This April, Water-Gen is launching its first pilot study in Miami-Dade County, Florida, which will be analyzed as a prototype for additional U.S. locations.
Water-Gen’s large-scale water generators can potentially service billions around the world, including whole cities, villages, schools, and hospitals. The GEN-350G medium-scale atmospheric water generator was awarded a CCD contract with the UK Ministry of Defense for atmospheric water generation for forward operating bases. The Genny—the “water from air” home appliance, is a quick plug-and-drink solution which makes it ideal for homes and offices.
