Queens Republican candidate for Congress Dan halloran arrived in Israel on Sunday for a three day whirlwind series of meeting with leading officials including a conference with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Republican Party is looking to increase their edge in the Congress which now stands at 87 seats.
Halloran, a member of the New York City Council is a staunch friend of Israel and has spoken out and been critical about many of the Obama administration positions on Israel—particularly the presidents position on settlement building and the disposition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city.
Halloran supports the continued building of settlement communities in the territories and the recognition by the Us of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Halloran is facing off against Democratic Challenger Grace Meng in the November 6th elections. Polls show that the candidates are running neck in neck.
