Report: Israeli Plane Enters Lebanese Airspace

The Lebanese Army has said that an Israeli reconnaissance plane entered the country’s airspace early Tuesday, The Daily Star reports.

“At 4:35 a.m. in the morning, an Israeli reconnaissance jet violated Lebanese airspace over the village of Alma Shaab [south of Lebanon] and conducted aerial maneuvers over the south,” the Army’s general directorate said Tuesday.

“The jet left at 7:20 a.m. flying over the village of Naqoura,” it added.

Another statement added that several Israeli aircraft had also been spotted over Lebanon on Monday.

“On Monday, at 7:30 a.m., an Israeli drone violated Lebanese airspace from above Kfar Kila village, executed a circular flight pattern over the south and West Bekaa regions, and then left at 5:30 p.m. from above Naqoura village.”

Another drone was spotted at 7:45 a.m. above the village of Aitaroun in the south.

“[The drone] executed a circular flight pattern over the southern region and then left at 9:20 p.m. from above Naqoura village,” the statement said.

According to the Daily Star, Lebanon has repeatedly lodged complaints to the U.N. over Israeli entry into its airspace.
