An improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated near the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip, causing light damage to an IDF vehicle carrying soldiers who were patrolling the area.
There were no injuries reported among the Israeli soldiers, but the explosion did cause some damage to the border fence, according to Ynet.
IDF tanks fired back in the direction of where suspected terrorists were presumed to be hiding.
Southern Israel has endured almost daily rocket fire from the Strip over the past several weeks, with Israel responding by hitting launching teams from the air. On Thursday evening, a Kassam from Gaza exploded in a field in the southern Eshkol region.
