Severe Thunderstorm Watch, Flash Flood Warnings in Effect For Tri State Area

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of the tri-state area until 11 p.m.

The watch includes most counties in the metropolitan area, with the exception of Monmouth, Ocean and Suffolk counties in New Jersey.

There are, however, flash food warnings in Morris, Warren and Sussex counties until 6:45 p.m., where radar shows at least two inches of rain by 3 p.m.

All three area airports were showing delays Monday afternoon as thunderstorms cause planes to reroute.
