Shooting Attack in Samaria: Terrorists Open Fire on Children in Passing Israeli Vehicle

Palestinian Arabs opened fire on an Israeli family as they were driving near the central town of Kedumim, Ma’ariv reported on Thursday. The passengers in the vehicle, two parents and their four children, were not injured in the attack, according to the report.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night when suspects shot up the vehicle as it was passing through an intersection near the Arab village of Jit. The victims were on their way back from Kedumim to their home, located in the Gilad Farms community, Ma’ariv said.

While no one was injured, the vehicle sustained minor damages.

The driver of the Israeli vehicle said he spotted a silver-colored car heading towards him and his family. As soon as one of the silver vehicle’s occupants started firing in his direction, the driver quickly accelerated away from the assailants’ range of fire, Ma’ariv reported.

Once out of harm’s way, the driver contacted Israeli security forces, and army and police vehicles rapidly descended on the crime scene. A hunt for the shooters was immediately launched. The suspected terrorists are still currently at large.

Judea was also the target of attacks yesterday, Ma’ariv reported. Passing Israeli vehicles near Beit Hagai, in Mount Hebron were pelted with stones, causing damage to windscreens but no injuries.

Yesterday’s terrorist activities are the latest in a noticeable uptick of attacks on Israelis across Judea and Samaria.
