The second-graders at the Shulamith School had a marvelous time on their recent trip to the New York Hall of Science. They saw the film The Little Giants, about a chipmunk, his environment, and his survival techniques. The girls also participated in a hands-on workshop on physical science, in which they were split into groups and had to create a track for a golf ball out of the varied materials they were given. In addition to the film and workshop, the second-graders enjoyed an interactive exhibit on space. The outing was a most agreeable way to enhance all that they’ve learned about in science this year.
